#inspiration: autumn playlist

Hello there! The past couple of weeks I have been feeling a little bit off. Things didn't really work out the way I wanted and I couldn't find the time to blog. But hey, newsflash: that's life! I really missed the blog though... But enough negativity! Since music and autumn are two things that make me happy, I thought I could share my autumn playlist on Spotify with you guys. It's a mix of old and new songs and various styles, but they all have that typical melancholic and autumnal vibe that I love so much about this season. Nothing more cosy than reading in bed with a blanket and this playlist on the background. What is your favourite music for autumn?

My first vlog: the white blazer

Hi guys! I'm back from my little trip to Portugal and I had such an amazing time. I actually kind of miss it already. And believe me, that doesn't happen very often. Today I show you my very first vlog, ever! I'm a bit nervous about posting this video and not 100 % comfortable with it, but I sort of made a promise to someone I met in Porto and since I'm a woman of my word, there is no way back. Besides, I like to think that if something scares you, it might be a good thing to try.

You can leave your hat on

Hey there! Still cold over here, so I wore one of the warmest jumpers I own. It's a red knitted one and probably one of my favourites, because of the vibrant colour. Red is simply the best pick to spice up an otherwise completely black outfit and to brighten up a dark day like this.

The mad hatter

It's freakin' cold outside and my ears are freezing off, so I can definitely use my big collection of head accessories. I never was so much of a hat person, because I thought I couldn't pull it off. But over the years I experimented a little and now it has become one of my favorite accessories. I have a lot of different pieces going from a black bowler hat to a French barret. To give you guys some inspiration on how to protect your ears from the cold, I did a little fun shoot. Hope you like it!

And oh yeah, I almost forgot to tell that I have something special coming up next week. So stay tuned!

I'm finally back in business, babes! And how glad I am for that. Not being able to do something with my creativity and write for the blog really got on my nerves. So yeah, after five weeks of intense studying and no social life, I have A LOT to bother you with. Just you'd be prepared ;)

I like people who smile when it's raining

This is one of my favorite outfits of the past month. It's sassy, comfortable and the outfit perfectly reflects my personality. Normally I'd wear the sweater rather casual with a pair of jeans and lace-up boots, but this time I decided to go for a chic look. With this silhouette I wanted to prove that you can wear a typical winter sweather in a more sleek and sophisticated way.

Currently #3: December & January

Hey there! This time I decided to combine two months in one currently post. The reason for that? Well, I'm in the middle of my exams which means I don't have much time for activities worth mentioning, haha! Sounds pathetic, but unfortunately it's true. "Eat, sleep and study" is pretty much all I do nowadays (and getting distracted by my phone, but ssssht, don't tell my parents ;)). Luckily I  still managed to come up with some things to discuss in this post. And off we go!

CURRENTLY...

  • discovering: James Bay. Picture the coolest, most talented hatted guy you can think of, dubble his awesomeness and you get British singer-songwriter James Bay. I discovered his song "Hold back the river" whilst listening to the radio and I was sold immediately. I looked him up on Spotify and hell yes, I fell in love with his voice a second time. Really, do yourself a favour and take a minute (or thirty) to listen to his music. You won't be disappointed, I promise!
  • brunette again: I don't know whether you've noticed or not, but I went through life as a redhead for a while. I was a bit bored with myself, so I dyed my hair back in October. The intention was to go for a warmer hue than my own brown locks as I thought it would be perfect for autumn, but it turned out way more red than I wanted it to be. For me it was quite a big adjustment. It was cool for a while, but it didn't feel like me. So last week I dyed my hair brown again and it feels much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not afraid of a little experiment and I like to change my look once and a while, but I just didn't like the outcome of this one ;) It wasn't always very clear in the pictures, but here it's quite obvious. But now I'm back to brown again. What do you guys like the most?
  • sticking to my New Year's resolution: I've decided I want to spend my money smarter and cut  in unnecessary expenses. Last year I bought a lot of clothes, accesories and canteen food I actually don't need (sounds familiar?). From now on I'll wear what's in my closet and eat what's in the fridge. But don't worry, I still have plenty of clothes to show you cool outfits. The perks of being a hoarder, haha. But I have to stay realistic of course. I will try to resist, but if I come across something I really love and I've stuck to my resolution so far, I'll probably buy it. Because of those damned exams I managed to buy nothing so far. At least they are good for something... This resolution isn't only better for my bank account, but also for the environment. This concept of "conscious consuming"seems to become a trend. More and more people decide to buy less but better, which means they go for quality instead of quantity. I think that's a great evolution. My reason for going along with this trend is to save up money for something that's on my bucket list for a really long time... But for now that's still a secret. Guess you'll have to stay tuned to discover what this mysterious thing is ;)

Happy 2015

Hi sweet Bohomantics! A brand new year has just arrived so I would like to take that opportunity to express my gratitude. I want to thank you for reading this blog and supporting me in what I love doing. I know I have made some rare choices (for example in not mentioning the clothing brands I wear) and that this non-commercial blog concept isn't evident, but I'm determined in what I do. I used to love reading and following blogs, but the holidays have proven once more that the (fashion) blog scene has become so superficial. I have a rather extensive list of famous and successful bloggers I follow, but it's quite obvious why they are so succesful. I don't exaggerate when I say that I've seen the same outfits, accesories and products over and over again. All sponsored by the same companies and brands... Anyway, not all bloggers are like that. There are still some cool authentic bloggers with original content. My ambition is to fit in that list and stay true to myself. If I ever mention a brand or a company it's because I really want to and I believe in it for the full two hundred per cent, promised! But this is only the start and my wish for 2015 is to keep on blogging, getting better and take bohomantic to the next level. Thank you for coming along so far, it means the world to me! I hope you have an amazing, fun, mind-blowing and inspiring year.

With all my love,
Laura
